Walk and Stay Series | ST Germans to Tywardreath
29 miles
6-9 MAY 2026
ONLY PLACES ON THE WAITING LIST NOW AVAILABLE
Join our long walk for a day or ‘walk and stay’ with the group. We will be walking moderately challenging sections from the start of the Cornish Celtic Way at St Germans Priory to Tywardreath.
(St Germans Priory is close to St Germans mainline train station, and the end of the walk is close to Par Train Station.)
The route takes us down lanes to the coast and along magnificent coast path sections, walking on the coast path and Cornish lanes where we can expect to be surrounded by many Spring flowers. We will be retelling the stories of the Celtic saints and finding their heritage in the landscape, the places and Celtic crosses along the route. Accommodation will be basic: on the floor of a chapel, a church hall and a village hall, and the walkers will need a mat/air-bed and sleeping bag. The facilities are fairly basic but there is access to toilets and hot and cold water for washing. We will have ‘car support’ to transfer luggage and supplies. Walkers must be able to climb over stiles, manage some steep walking in places and walk the distances shown in the information below.
Walkers will need to be able to help with washing up and tidying the accommodation after our stay, making their own breakfast and packed lunch, and with working as a team to help with any meal preparation.
Day-walkers: If you would like to walk with the group for a day, please contact Penny for information. You are very welcome to join us.
